55 loads of gravel, 10 days of a rubber tire backhoe, one chainsaw bar, buckets of sweat in humid weather, a tornado, and over $10k for a driveway in to the spot we have chosen to build the house. It is a big change from the tiny path we marked out with flagging tape two years ago! Our 750 ft long curvy route allowed us to keep many of bigger trees along the way not to mention providing a bit of privacy and mystique as visitors are left to wonder what they will see around the next bend.
The driveway will allow us to move on to the property and really get to know the land and the spot we have chosen for the house at different times of day and weather. The campground was nice but it is so nice to be able to move into our own space.
